Dreamland Aquapark

  • Completion date
    November 2014
  • Project type
    Waterproofing

The facility included a wide variety of attractions: a lazy river, which is an extended concrete twisted structure with constant flow, wave pool, open concrete pool with periodic waves, various types of slides and engineering structures, ensuring the operation of the entire complex. Each attraction is a non-standard hydraulic structure and, accordingly, a separate technical task to ensure its tightness. Each technical solution also should take into account the negative pressure due to high groundwater levels, i.e. “water should not flow out, but should not flow in either”.

Water-resistant concrete was used for all structures. The task was to seal shrinkage cracks, stud holes, utility inputs and expansion joints.

Work completed

New waterproofing

A set of works on sealing shrinkage cracks was carried out, and all stud holes were sealed. The applied solutions work both with positive and negative water pressure.

Installation and sealing of expansion joints

The large length of structures of indirect shapes and operation in the open air require the installation of a large number of expansion joints. More than 1000 line meters of joints were sealed in the framework of this project.

Sealing of utility inputs

Hydraulic structures of this scale involve the use of a huge number of pipes, cables and other utilities in the composition, and, accordingly, require a lot of patience and competence for their sealing.
